Frenchy's Chicken
Best Fried Chicken in Houston · TX
Creole fried chicken in Third Ward since 1969.
Frenchy's Chicken has been "Houston's Favorite Chicken" since 1969, when New Orleans native Percy "Frenchy" Creuzot and his wife Sallie opened a po-boy shop on Scott Street in the Third Ward, near Texas Southern and the University of Houston. Its Creole-seasoned fried chicken, dirty rice and Gris Gris sauce built a devoted, multi-generational following.
A cornerstone of Black Houston's food culture for over 50 years, Frenchy's is the 2025 Centurion Award winner.
