Cain's Ballroom
Best Historic Music Hall in Tulsa · OK
The Carnegie Hall of western swing
Cain's Ballroom has been Tulsa's landmark dance hall since 1924, famous as the 'Home of Bob Wills' and the birthplace of Western swing, its spring-loaded maple dance floor built to bounce. Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys broadcast from the stage in the 1930s and '40s, and the Sex Pistols played one of their few American shows here in 1978.
Still a working concert hall beneath its ring of Western portraits, Cain's is a genuine piece of American music history — 'the Carnegie Hall of Western swing' that now hosts touring acts of every stripe.
