Matt's Big Breakfast has drawn morning lines in downtown Phoenix since 2004, when Matt and Erenia Pool opened a tiny diner devoted to doing breakfast exactly right: cage-free eggs, thick-cut bacon, griddlecakes and the Hog & Chick, all cooked to order from scratch.
A Food Network favorite and a downtown anchor, its retro room and uncompromising quality earned it the 2025 Centurion Award in Phoenix.
